    Workbook Streamlining

    Hi All,

I have been working on an excel project for a very long time, and it has grown a lot of arms and legs which has made the workbook very cumbersome. File Size (4MB)

I initially started off just using formulas on each sheet, and then I added in a lot of VBA, combining my original formulas.

The book imports race results data as a .csv and sorts out an overall championship table with various reports for newspaper, radio and e-mail. The workbook imports 2 separate .csv files and manipulates the data to create 3 .txt reports and sorts out scores in a table format so that we can see who is winning each championship.

It all works pretty good (for an amateur) but I was hoping somebody might be able to have a look at it to help me to streamline it. I have 1 worksheet in particular that causes excel to work extremely slowly and I would like that sheet sorted out. There are many variables that can change ie. number of drivers, number of finals etc. which means it has to be pretty fluid. I have given it my best go, but now I need a little helping hand to improve it.

If anyone is willing to help then I can PM the workbook along with a couple of .csv files for testing. I don't know if I can attach the main file to this post since it is 4MB.

    Thanks for your help

    Re: Workbook Streamlining

I have managed to uploaded the files and hopefully these links will work:

    https://www.dropbox.com/s/fpgjo6q8bq...8Blank%29.xlsm
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/cfkeopylhi...%20Example.csv
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/86pgp0ysds...%20Example.csv
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/3m8jrt4tsbp9cmt/mscomct2.inf
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/8xf79otwa624dka/mscomct2.ocx
    https://www.dropbox.com/s/7o1ctcgd1g4gvej/Readme.txt

An Active x Date Picker needs to be installed first which can be done using the files mscomct2, installed following the instructions in the readme. If you download all three Excel files, and run the "Scoresheet (Blank)" file first. Then click on the Import Data from the "Overall Results" worksheet and select the "Qualifying Example" and the the "Finals Example" in that order. You will then have to select a date using the calander that pops up, and then a location to save the .txt output files. That is how the program is supposed to work.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Any thoughts or views on how I've done things would also help me.

    Thanks again
