Copy/Paste to Input Box

Just jumped from Excel 2007 to 2013. In 2007, my program would prompt me via an Input Box and i would copy information from another worksheet and paste to the Input Box. In 2013, once the Inputbox prompt is open, i cannot grab anything outside the InputBox(get the rolling circle on my mouse icon). Is there as way to cure this?

Someone suggested in an earlier post a "modeless userform"?? Not sure what that is, here is example of my code.

myheatnumber = InputBox("What is the heat number of this material?"

Once prompted, i've always been able to copy a number from another worksheet and paste to the inputbox, currently with 2013, it will not allow me to copy anything.
