Question Adding rows and filling in missing numbers

    Hello all,

I'm trying to bring together two sets of data that use a numbered "provider ID" to designate a given hospital, like below.

The problem is that, while there is overlap between my two datasets, they don't match. That is, some hospitals are on both lists and some are only on one or the other.

I had wondered about adding rows whenever a number is missing (so, one each for 10002 thru 10005 in the example above). Then I could combine my data and filter out the blanks.

Any thoughts on formulae or VB to accomplish this would be greatly appreciated.

    Thank you!

    Hi,

Please don't upload pictures when you have a perfectly good workbook to show us. Not many of us are prepared to re-create your data, particularly when not all the relevant information may not be present.

I'm sorry, but the full workbook is protected by HIPAA confidentiality laws.

In that case anonymise the data with some random values that don't alter the layout integrity but which represent the sort of data, text and/or numerics that you are working with.

    Hi there,

Thanks for the advice, and sorry for the delay in responding.

Here are two sample worksheets with the data transformed so it is incorrect.

Again, I need a single combined list of hospitals, organized by their ID number. Each of the two spreadsheets I've attached has some overlap, but it is not enough to simply copy-paste.

Please let me know if you need any further clarification or information.
