Question How to get 2 columns conditionally formatted against each other.

Hi, I hope some one can help, because I'm not sure you can do this.

I wish to compare two columns with payments, one from the bank and one from accounting.
Let me show you what I mean:

I've been doing this manually, and it's starting to annoy me that I'm not smart enough to automate this.

So, on one side -71515,84 is the same as the sum of the numbers on the right side. What I have to do is to check against the date, then do the sum and see if it's correct. I'd rather just mark it if it's correct and check the ones that are not.

Can I do this with conditional formatting?

    Thank you!

    To attach a Workbook
(please do not post pictures of worksheets)
    • Click Advanced (next to quick post),
    • Scroll down until you see "Manage Attachments",
    • Click that then select "add files" (top right corner).
    • Click "Select Files" find your file, click "open" click "upload"
    • Once the upload is completed the file name will appear below the input boxes in this window.
    • Click "Done" at bottom right to close the Attachment Manager.

Unfortunately, there is nothing in the "Bank" records (column E) that map to the "Account" records (column J). If you had not highlighted them we would never know.

I dont think there is any preset option to do this but i guess you can do this through a macro.

Re: How to get 2 columns conditionally formatted against each other.

Can't I check against the date? I was checking SUMIFS, and if I use the date as a criteria range, can't I then sum the total amount for the date? For example, 20.06.2013, sum both sides, check against each other and colourize if it's correct. Can this be done with conditional formatting?
