It's not an easy task but hopefully fun, and I hope very handy too, My hopes are that this will be something that'll use every day in my work from now on for years, problem is right now it's only in theory.
I'm planing to do something in excel, and I've 2 ways to do it, I'll explain what it is, and will be glad to have your experienced opinion about it, I'm explaining now - but it'll be much easier to understand with the example attached below.
I think that what I'm planning to do is something very productive and I hope that there is already something like this ready. but on the other hand , I don't really sure.
In the excel file I've 2 boards (every board is a group of cells that are a CALCULATION cells, derives from it's own table), every board have calculated cells that derives it's info from tables that I've have worked there, so for every board there is it's own table. what we have is 2 sets of board +table. in every board I've a link to it's table to do the working. there's 2 columns of boards - to make everything very organized.
I'm planning to have 5-20 more like the first board, each with it's own table, every pair of table+board will be like the first pair. (which act like a template)
and have more 5-20 like the second board, each board with it's own table, every pair of table+board will be lke the upper first pair .
what is a better solution ?
1. to build 20 ready pairs of boards and tables in the first column (5 cell widths) , and another 20 ready pairs of boards and tables in near by column (5 cell widths) , and maybe to figure out how to make them invisible unless I want to use it.
2. To build a button for the first column and a button for the second column, so if you'll click on the first button, the macro will duplicate the upper table+board which act like a template and delete it's content so it's will be new, and it's will relate the table of calculations to it's uniqe table so if you work on it's table - the only board that'll be affected will be it's own 1 single board.
Also build a second button for the second column that do the same.
