    Question how to make excel a learning tool for foreign language learners

    The purpose of creating this thread is to help me make a "game" for students that can:

    1. generate words randomly (in A1:A5) from a specific set of words (sheet2);
    2. write answers (in B1:B5) and check whether the answers were correct or not (C1:C5);
    3 create a button that generates the words again.

    Im just starting to learn how use excel and i have reading a lot to solve my problem however, i cant understand the core concept of vba/acros . Threads in this site with the almost the same problem cant answer my problem. Thus, failure seems to be my fate in this quest. That is why im seeking help to you people.

    i have tried my own (=INDEX(Sheet1!$B:$B,RANDBETWEEN...) and my biggest problem is when i try to put my answer, it randomize again. that is why i think, macro/vba is the answer. thank you for future remedy

    aTOzb,

    Welcome to the forum!
    This question is very very similar to this thread:
    http://www.excelforum.com/excel-prog...-database.html

    Perhaps you can adapt that to suit your needs?
    Hope that helps,

    In the thread I linked to, the answers are included as comments. So the student could write the answer in column C and then hover the mouse over the question to view the answer and see if they were right. If you need that done differently, some code adaptation would be required.

    yeah, im thinking that i should write my answer in 2nd column and see whether im right in column 3, and find my overall records in sheet 3. that way, i can assess where i shud study more. by the way, wat u did really helped me, i just adjusted the question from 20 to 10. (and im proud i did it w/out help :D )
