I dont think.. its a case of PtrSafe related problem.. as you are already "Confident on your Ability".. there must be something else..

Thanks guys... I'm beavering away at it... I was just venting my frustration
It's basically the API's need modifying with PTRSafe and the "common controls" OCX is not available so I can't use Treeview ... (AND I've only just learned how to use that so I'm throwing Teddy out of the pram)
