Update external links without opening workbook

Hi All,

I have a workbook which is linked to another workbook to pull data in - but it only refreshes the data when the linked workbook is open.

Is there anyway to do this without opening the workbook?

The workbook that I'm linking to will always be updated and saved, before my workbook in question is going to be used - so the data is "up-to-date" so I don't need Excel to calculate anything as such, just pull the values in without opening the workbook.

Anyone shed any light?

Are you including the full path of that 'another workbook' in your current workbook ?

Yes I am.

I have checked it again today and it seems to be updating fine now even when the workbook is closed - maybe just one of those things!
