Importing "Thunderbird" email client inbox into EXCEL

    G'day,

I see lots of vba macros to send a Gmail but I would like to read in the Gmail Inbox.

We use Gmail to handle our customer inquires and we wish to know how many emails come in, from whom, ,Label, the subject etc...

Now we also use "ThunderBird" client to read GMail

    So...
Would like to have an EXCEL VBA where one enters the Gmail account name / password and a date range - the macro proceeds, within a subsheet of the EXCEL, to import the email from the Thunderbird client
    The subsheet would have a header as follows;
Date Sender Subject (LABEL - if possible)

.. and below - line by line list of emails

    Thanx for your support.

    Cheers,
    Mike,
    Ottawa, Canada

PS: Posted similar for fetching email from Gmail directly but no response.
So "Thunderbird" client solution would work as well

AFAIK Thunderbird is not VBA enabled so I guess there isn't an Object Model for it. Happy to be corrected if anyone knows better.

You might want to have a look at Ron de Bruin's web site. He seems to have routines to do pretty much anything with anything ... though I suspect the focus is on sending mails not receiving them.

    Hi TMS,

    I emailed Ron De Bruin...

Now "ThunderBird' was simply an option.

Is it possible to have an EXCEL VBA within the EXCEL to obtain Gmail information directly -?

    Thanx for the lead.

    Mike.
