Find a number and replace the adjacent cell with other number

I am working on a sheet where i have to search for a particular number eg: search entire data sheet for some data 'x' suppose there are 25 entries with data 'x' and replace all the 25 adjacent cell of 'x' with data 'y'; both x and y are numerals. Can anyone help !

I just learned macros as I went along. Compared to the experts on this site I'm a rank amateur, to be honest. I only answer easy questions and my solutions are often pretty clunky.

If you only have limited needs of Excel macros, you can learn a lot from websites like this and recording your actions then looking at how they fit together.

Otherwise, I'd suggest a more formal training course.
