    Run macros within the solver

    Hi,

I would like to run the excel solver on a problem that requires runing a few macros in between.
So trigger the solver should start a serie of macros to run and then the result of the solver should be calcualted on the results from the macros.

Each macro runs a calculation and the result of that calculation is the input to the next macro.

    1. Solver start
    2. Macro 1 runs
    3. Macro 2 runs
    3. Macro 3 runs
    2. Solver result displayed

    Is it possible?

    Thanks,
    Martin

Re: Run macros within the solver

You can run Solver from a macro. Add a new macro that runs the solver and then starts macro1.

Adding to the advice of Jacc if you wish to run solver using a macro you must also set a reference to solver in "Visual Basic" window. Tools -> References and tick box marked solver.

For more specific help you could upload a file with an example of what you wish to achieve.
