Highlight all cells in a worksheet containing a specific date

    Hello,

My latest challenge has proven way beyond my feeble vba skill set and I'm hoping someone can help.

We have a large worksheet with many columns containing dates in format dd/mm/yyyy hh:mm (the columns are not adjacent). We have to be able to quickly find cells with specific dates for review and audit purposes. Presently this can only be done using an auto-filter search on each and every column containing dates and is very time consuming.

We need a macro to search all rows and columns and identify those cells that contain a specific date by changing the cells interiors to red and cells borders to thick blue. (or something equally distinctive)

Achieving the above would be considered a major success and I could happily stop there, however I would like to go a step further if possible - I would like the means to remove those highlights when review is complete!.

I hope someone has done something like this before and has time to assist.

    Thanks very much

not an expert at macros - so someone else may give that solution
can you use a cell to enter that specific date , if so and lets say its in A1 (or could be on a different sheet)

    conditional format
enter a formula in conditional format

    the starting with A1
    =A1=A$A1
change the format to what ever you need fill, etc

and you can apply that to all the columns and rows
