Macro to recognise two filetypes for formatting

Hi Excel Gurus,

I have 2 file types = .tss and .ptr,
The files are open at the same time in excel for several formatting applications to take place.
I really need a macro that will be able to undergo several formatting obsticals in the .ptr book then copy them over into the .tss workbook.

can you help me with create a macro that can distinguish the .ptr from the .tss?

I know this is a very big ask but I am at your mercy and am always very appreciative of any advice!
