Automatic selection of Date from dropdown list

Hello:

Please refer to attached sheet.

I need to select the date from a dropdown list in Cell A3.

I want to keep the dropdown list but when I come to this sheet, i need today's date
automatically chosen in cell A3.

Please let me know if any questions.

Increase your data validation selection to for example "H200", while keep "ignore empty cells" on.

Then add the workbook open event as follows :
