    Highlight required information by date

In excel 2003 how do I go about having the program highlight cells that require information that is needed by date. And once it is added un-highlight the cell back to original formatting?

you may be able to use conditional formatting

you cna use a formula to look at cells and see if blank and also check a date and then highlight

if you can be more specific in your requirements and perhaps attach a sample spreadsheet

Re: Highlight required information by date

Please find attached a portion of the files- I would like to have excel highlight columns B,C, and Dbased on the date( ex. 5/6/13) Then either automatically based on time or by a manual keystroke as the date changes have the background turn back to white for those matching May 6th and then highlight B,C,D for May 7th thus showing a person where to add informatio. Thanks much for the input. M

you can use a conditional format that uses today()
    so in column B & C

B4:C4 to B34:c34 (B4:C34) - which you can adjust to cover the rows likely to be populated

    and then
A4=today() and format the colour - if you want to use the previous day then A4=today()-1

not sure which part of the spreadsheet you carry the following out
Then either automatically based on time or by a manual keystroke as the date changes have the background turn back to white for those matching May 6th
but you can have another rule applied to change to white background (no fill)

in the current conditional format you have a date of 3rd may - not sure why
