i have this data.
JOY/ EL526 - 512/45242 TE 28/3/13 SHORTAGE IN SPECIE
WIS526 / BA526 - 526/01659 SHORT. DICS IN SPECIE AFLAO
WI52 / DA530 - 530/00401 SHORTAGE DISCOVERED
WM530 / IS530 - 501/81003 T/E 04/02/13 SHARE OF BUDGET

i need a macro which will enable me extract only the items in bold and underlined and extract them to another column. the code does not always begin with 5;it ranges from 0-9 and the data is close to 5000. the coded information is in the same format ie eg. xyz/abcde and they are always numbers.

Is the format always the same? So text/text - 3-numbers/5-numbers then description?

Otherwise you could simply use a formula to take the 10 characters right of the dash?

Something like this in column D where data is in column C:
