    Smile Excel or Macros to Update Colors of Cell using Live Calender options

    Dear All,

    I am looking for Macro which can do the following actions:

    I have excel file which contains Start Date and Due dates of Checks to be done by Engineering Department, so here are the requirements.

    NAME OF INSTRUMENT CALIBRATION DONE CALIBRATION DUE AFTER (12Months) CALIBRATION DUE DATE
    CHROMAMETER** 12-Oct-13 12 12-Oct-14

    So just before 7 days the Calibration Due date, i want Calibration Due Date Cell to turn RED color automatically when I open the file and for this Excel has to be connected to Live calender so each time whenever I open the file, it checks for the Live date vs Due date, So please help.

    Please let me know if this can be done with only EXCEL?? if not then we have to go for Macro's . I have attached the file for your reference.

    Thanks in advance.

    You can use Conditional Formatting to do this - no need for macros. Select cells F3:F19, then click on Conditional Formatting, then New Rule, then select "Use a formula ..." from the bottom of the list, and then enter this formula in the box:

    =F3-TODAY()<=7

    then click on the Format button, select Fill tab and choose Red. Then OK your way out.

    Hope this helps.

    Pete
