Create Macro with Symbol

I am using Excel 2007.
Am needing to create a macro with the Wingdings Font, character code 252 from Symbol (decimal).
This is to create a shortcut for the check mark symbol.

That Macro worked on Excel 2007, but not on 2010.
I may not have some settings correct in Excel 2010 for the Macros.
