    Screenupdating on open?

I have set up a spreadsheet for work to log notices for discrepant parts. I would like to be able to have a tab that will auto update and filter (without having to be refreshed or updated) that will show only the overdue notices. And also a tab to show only the notices that have been initiated (column B) in the current week and are deemed (column N) scrap. I have set up the linked information in the tabs but cannot get the filters to update how I would like. I found that it worked with screen updating but updating after each cell is logged causes it to freeze up for a minute or so after each entry. Please help! DN log 2013 copy.xlsm

    beckacaroline,

See your updated workbook. I added four entries at the bottom to verify info. DN log 2013 copy.xlsm Enter new info on DN Log worksheet and info will autofill Overdue and Weekly worksheets as expected. Click on each sheet and info will automatically filter as per your request. If I did not understand your requirements please let me know.

    BigDawg,

Thank you for your response! It works when I open the VBE and run the code for that sheet, how do I get it to do that automatically? I'm new to all this so it could be setting of some sort that I need to change?

Again, thank you for your help.

    beckacaroline,

Are you saying that if you click on either the Overdue or Weekly Scrap worksheets that the macro does not fire and autofilter per your requirements?

Not when I just tried. Not sure what the issue could be.

    beckacaroline,

Are macros enabled? Under development tab goto macro security and ensure macros are enabled. Save workbook, reopen and try again.

    BigDawg,
I think I figured it out. The filters in on the sheets were preventing the VBA filters from working correctly. Maybe? Thank you so much for your help!!!!

    beckacaroline,

Yes. If you have other filters applied and then run the macros I created, there will be a problem. If you need further assistance, let me know.

    BigDawg,

Everything seems to be working perfectly now. But I have one additional question. Is there a way on the overdue tab to only include the records that are open? The closed DN's are highlighted in grey by conditional formating which is prompted by a date being entered in column U. Again, I really apprecaite your help and work on my issue.

    beckacaroline,

Try this one: DN log 2013 beckacaroline.xlsm
I believe it filters per your requests.

Note: the macros only work down to row 200. If you go beyond row 200, you will have to edit the code for your requirements.
