Excel file is taking long time(almost 3 mins) while Save

Hi Guys,

i am using an excel file which have few Dependent drop look ups in it. it have 562 columns and almost 5000 rows and is of size 700kb.
My problem is that when i enter any data in it and try to save, it take almost 3mins to save. can u please help me with any solution. it giving this problem in all version of excel.

Hi harshrajpurohit,

welcome to the forum.

It may be because of formulas.. try below options as per your need :-
1) copy - paste formulas as values (leaving top row) , so that Excel take less time to calculate.
2) put workbook to manual mode and un-check "recalculate before saving" and then enter you data and try saving.

Hi Dilipandey,

ya I also did that.

But i think this problem is thr becuase i am assining named range to 1000 columns(Dependent Lookups) using indirect .

INDIRECT() is volatile, and probably where your problem lies.

Can you post a small sample of your workbook, showing your formulae and names?
