can you provide a manual solution or tell your exact requirement..

Manual solution would be to find average number of tasks and them play around with the number of tasks in each folder till I get folders set with numbers close to average..
Old post, yes. I found this task rather difficult but somehow intriguing. Played around with numbers and data and waiting for an idea to pop up. Suddenly it did! A simple but very efficient formula.Concept is simple, the one with the least points gets the next task down the list, the list being sorted big to small.
I certainly hope you are still around, karthikcoep, because I think the result turned out really well.![]()
Just to test the algorithm I added a scramble function on a new sheet. Even with scrambled data the results are usually acceptable but not as good as the sorted solution.
