    Insert variable data with offset

    Hi All

I want to ask a question that I am not sure how to put in words...

I have a Workbook that consists of 4 sheets. I want to combine the variable data entered in sheet 1-3 into sheet 4.

The first part is easy, copying data from sheet 1 to sheet 4. In sheet 2 and three, however, my problem starts. In sheet 2 you choose from a dropdown list and that should determine what is copied into sheet 4 (i.e. the action could read as (if sheet2 (dropdown box 1) = investment1, copy investment 1 of sheet3 into A51 on sheet4) -- this action should work the same as an offset function).

I know I am not wording myself properly, I am sorry. Find attached the file that hopefully gives a clearer idea.

Thanks in advance for those spending time on this.

    Kind regards

You could do it like the attached. If the descriptions of the investments were just in wide cells, rather than merge, you could just use the index back from the dropdown as the column in the INDEX. For not selecting a product, i would have a blank check in the formula to, its up to you how to play that one, so if C4<>"" then do the index bit, for the 2nd and the 3rd if C6<>"" etc.

    Thank you Nathansav.

This works, but I think it might become a problem after a while. The objective of this is to generate an investment proposal for clients, which means that there is a possibility for 5 investements (extreme case) to be included in the proposal. Furthermore, there are roughly 40 - 45 funds that we use, depending on the clients' needs and circumstances.

I think you will agree with me that it might become one hell of a huge program. My plan is to insert a last piece of standard reading material at the end of the proposal (like an appendix) using the (xlUp) function.

Do you have any ideas that I can use?
