    Dropdown List Extraction

Is there any way, using a macro (or otherwise) to extract all the items from a dropdown list (as in a filtered list) into a column. I have a column, which when filtered shows around 1,000 items and I need to put all these options into a column, but to do this manually would be a slow, painful task.

    Many thanks...

    Re: Dropdown List Extraction

hi HangMan. not really sure what you are referring to. if you are talking about a unique list of the column (since filter only show each unique item once), then you can copy the whole column & in Excel 2007, you can do Remove Duplicates. Paste the data somewhere & go to Data-> Remove Duplicates. Check the option that "My data has headers" if you have one.

if you have conditions for the unique list, do upload a sample file & let us have a look

if you are talking about data validation dropdown, then there should be a source where the items are?

Thanks, if you have clicked on the * and added our rep.
