Manually update Label filters on pivot table eventually do this via vba

    hi,

I have a file (see enclosed) which has a pivot table. The row lables are a column of dates. What i want to do is somehow only plot dates which are less than or equal to some date "X". For this example lets say X=9/25/12

I dont know how to do this manually or with vba. My longterm goal is to do this with vba but i should know how to do it manually as well.

Any thing you can advise would be helpful!

so what i found out is this.

In the column labeled "Field" there are dates and "text". I found that as long as the "text" was there i could not get what i wanted. What did i want........well.........with only dates present when i click on the row-filters drop down menu i get the option of "Date Filters". Note: With the "text" in the column i would not get the "Date Filters" but rather what i would get is "Label Filters"

Once i removed these "text" entries i could get the "Date Filters" and from there it was simple to onlyl plot date ranges that i wanted.
