Hi All,
I am looking for a way to have excel search a WORD document in a certain area of the sheet and generate what is found at these coordinates. If this is not possible, I can also make with having excel search for a certain phrase and then generate the text that comes directly after the specified.

Currently I have set up a =hyperlink formula that creates a link to the word document specified in the column A.
Ex. "C10" - Brings user to a microsoft word document that outlines "protocol c10"
"C11" - Brings user to a microsoft word document that outlines "protocol c11"
"C12" - Brings user to a microsoft word document that outlines "protocol c12"
etc. - etc...
So as you can see, I have the documents basically attached to the excel document already.
In 2 other columns I want excel to search the corresponding documents and generate the "effective date" of the protocol and the " short description"
I hope that I have explained my situation in great enough detail.
