    Lookup and delete

    Hello,

I'm working on creating inventory lists exported from Quickbooks. I want to delete all the items I previously counted from the new list each time I need a new list to count from.

Right now I have a new full list exported to Excel, and a column with previously counted items. I would like to find a way to look up each item in the counted list, find it in the new list (next to it in the same worksheet), and delete the four cells in the row where the item is found.

Let me know if this makes sense and if you have any ideas.

    Thanks,

    Ken

    Re: Lookup and delete

Here is a sample file. I want to remove the lines under the headings for each item in the list on the right.

The list on the right will be duplicated and get longer each time a count is completed. After each inventory count, I will re-export the entire item list, add the counted items to the list on the right, and remove the lines under the headings on the left so the items that have already been counted will not be counted again.

The idea is that I randomize the exported list each time (exported from Quickbooks) , select the first 70 items or so to do a physical inventory cycle count, and the next time I need to count, randomize the new exported list, but not have any repeated items that were already counted.

The reason I need to re-export the entire list each time is so that the current quantities for each item are correct.

    Thanks for any help.
