I believe it is an event from the other workbook, cancelling my styles. How can I make mine, what you have called, a "dictator workbook"?

    Hi, Doug,

I strongly recommend to lay your hands on a version of the book Professional Excel Development (Second Edition) by Bovey/Wallentin/Bullen/Green where dictator applications are handled from page 141 to 164. If you canīt you may start with the Workbook_Deactivate/-Activate-Event, cut down the opening of other or new workbooks and keep and restore the settings at the end of the session (thatīs what went wrong when I tested - still busy rebuilding a working Excel2000 version on this pc).

    Ciao,
    Holger
