    Question Multiple currency Excel workbook

    Hi,

I present Excel sheets often in the US, UK and Europe. I'd like to add currency buttons which would change the cell content automatically to the desired currency. This way I could present the data in Sterling to someone in London, US$ to someone in New York etc etc.

Is there an easy way to do this?

Thanks in advance for any input

    Mike

It could be possible with one caveat- You have mac. I do not know whether this is going to be an issue. Could you please attach a sample with a desired result? A sheet before and after running the macro. To attach a smple,go to advance and "manage attachment"

    Re: Multiple currency Excel workbook

    Hi,

I am working on a Mac

Attached is a sample of what I have in mind.

My source data is in US$. I'd like to have buttons on the side that when pushed would automatically transfer all the US$ figures into the selected currency based on a defined exchange rate (I've put in the current rates).

Once again, thanks for your help.

    Hello funpix,

This is an interesting one. To start with you will have to preserve the Initial $ Values somewhere, which I have done by copying it to Sheet2.

Clicking on any of the Conversion Buttons, will then first "restore" the $ Values, do the conversion, and display it in the correct pre-defined Currency.

    Try the attached WorkBook.

Also see the "Please consider" note at the bottom of this post.

    @ FDibbins,

Very nice formulas. That could work as well. What if the OP forgets to preserve the $ values, as you have done in Rows 14 and 15?

Or if he/she accidentally, by the slip of the hand, enters a x in Cell F8, everything defaults to Zero values.

I believe that the vba route is the way to go, eliminating incorrect Data entry and less prone to errors.

One also has to cancel any one x value entered, before entering it again in another row.

Persoonlik vind ek dit omslagtig. Not really very user friendly, if I may say so.
