Coloring cells according with INPUT in database.

    Hi all,
I'm trying to figure out the way to coloring cells depending on code entered in a tab. The file attached is a sample of what I need to accomplish, I have UNITS to be code as A (available) no color, (P) pending, RED. (H) Hold, yellow. (F) firm, Gray. the codes are entered in column J (Tracking tab) and the color need to be applied to the 2 other tabs (COLOR and BLACKED OUT). The color tab should be color at the same color than the tracking and the sales person should be color in BLACK to match the fonts. The sample attached has the colors manually applied to show how it should be done...Please help!

Which sheet / range contains sales person data.. ?
Can you explain one or two coloring that you have done manually, so that it becomes more clear. thanks.

Hi, I'm sorry for the delay of my response, the email went to the spam folder!..
The only Tab that contains info to be modified is the TRACKING TAB so every time a sale is made needs to be recorded on that tab, we manually change the code in the column J (tracking), every unit has a correspondent cell representing it on the sales person tab and sales person tab, I need a code that color the cell that represent the unit sold, for example, unit 705 in the tracking (J77) is sold and now is pending (RED), when I change the code from A to P (in the tracking tab) It needs to color red the cell G10 (Vlookup formula 705)in the COLOR tab...the same with the BLACKED OUT TAB (cell G12)...
    I hope this helps,

    Okay..
Use the below formula in conditional formatting window for G10:-

    Formula: copy to clipboard

and choose the format as Red background fill.. If this is ok, copy the same formatting to other cells.. thanks.

Thanks, but is there a way to set up the formatting on the cells of the whole page or range?..we do this for many different projects and the conditional formatting you just did is perfect...I really appreciate the help!

Yes.. and I already suggested that :-
If this is ok, copy the same formatting to other cells.. thanks.
Copy that cell and paste special - formats on other cells of your choice.. you might need to make sure that the headings on left and top are correctly aligned because in formula column B and row 5 have them so adjust accordingly in other cells, if required

Since you have arranged your data like this hence nothing much easier way coming to my mind Thanks.
