Some macro files run without problems yet some open in Design Mode and I am unale to deactivate the mode to run macros. For other users this works fine. Btw the macros are run through buttons...not through SHFT-CTRL combination. What could be the issue?
are you using the same version of excel as the other users?

Yes we all use excel 2007
then I reckon it's probably your activex settings in trust center
That has "Prompt me before enabling all control with minimal restrictions" checked
what do other users have set? probably no prompt

are you seeing a prompt when you open those files? do you have the same patches and service packs applied to your office installation?
