Copy one column to another sheet.

I am trying to copy a column into another sheet of the same file. I want it to work in such a way that when I make changes to this column in sheet 1, these changes appear in sheet 2. I know how to transpose data. But I don't want to alter the column into a row. I want to keep it as a column when I move it to the new sheet.

It seems a sample would help and more explanation as to when/how this update should occur?

    To Attach a File:

    1. Click on Go Advanced
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.
    HTH
    Regards, Jeff

Re: Copy one column to another sheet.

Umm I didn't mention anything about attaching a file or even a separate file at all. I said sheet 1 and sheet 2 from the same file. I am looking to take Column A from sheet 1, transfer it to column A in sheet 2. I want to make sure when I change values in Column A from sheet 1, they automatically change in sheet 2.

I know how to use the function =transpose to accomplish this but it turns my columns into rows and vice versa. I don't want to do that. I want my columns to remain columns.

Re: Copy one column to another sheet.

If you are transferring a column to a column why are you using =Transpose. As you pointed out this takes a column and turns in into a row or vice versa.

Why not just link the two sheets?

    In Sheet3 A1 >> =Sheet2!A1

Now if you make a change to Sheet2 A1, the change will automatically show up in Sheet3 A1

I have been using transpose because as I stated, I do not know the formula to do it otherwise.

The code you have given me seems as though it would only transfer A1 from one sheet to the next. Is there a way to just auto copy the whole column? That code could work of I past it down the whole column but I assume there is a formula that does this.

Never mind. I just did what you said. Clicked on Column A to highlight the whole thing and pasted. Thanks for the help.
