    Inventory macro help.

First and foremost, hello to all on this forum as this is my first post.

I had a quick question. I am currently trying to use the Basic Inventory Tracking Spreadsheet from this website-http://www.taltech.com/downloads/serial Their is a free excel spreadsheet download about halfway down on the page with a macro that enables you to use a barcode scanner and scan a barcode and have it look up inventory. It works for me almost 100% except for 1 issue and i was wondering if i could get some help on how to fix it as i am not experienced in this type of thing. currently it has the 3rd column using "price" which is supposed to be a numerical value. I want to use the 3rd column as a "serial number" column for my equipment. How do i go about changing that cell so when i run the macro and use it to add or lookup information it doesn't error out at me because there is a letter in the cell. Reason i am asking is because i want to use the spreadsheet to keep a log of equipment and i want to change the "price" section to "serial numbers" which contain letters and numbers.

Any help would be appreciated. Maybe if someone downloads it and makes the quick change and emails it back to me that would be great, or if its simple and you can tell me how to change things that would work to.

    thank you

    Hi Scott,

I took a look at the workbook. I can see why your are getting the error. The Price field is getting checked to make sure it only contains numerical characters with the snippet of code below:

I removed this section altogether and it now lets you enter anything you want to in the field. Try the attached.

If this was the solution you were looking for and your workbook functions the way you need it to, please mark this thread as solved using the Thread Tools menu above your first post.
