    update statistics

I am the scorekeeper for a dartball team I am on. I made an excel sheet to keep score and have it all set up to tally nightly stats. what I would like it to do is to be able to add a command button so that at the end of the night I can click it to update the season stats. ie: nightly stats are compiled in cells c4:j28. I have season stats in cells n4:u28. both ranges are set up identical. I would like to be able to click the command button and have it automatically add the nightly stats to the season stats so I can share with the guys each night what their updated season stats are. I am sure there is a really complicated way to make it automatically keep itself updated, but I was thinking this way would be easier. I currently have a 'ghost' section with identical ranges also, that every night I copy the season stats into (previous stats) and then have individual formulas to add that section to the nightly stats which gives me the season stats section. looking for shorter/quicker way to accomplish same thing. any help would be very much appreciated.

    Hi again,
in consideration of using your "ghost" concept without any change of your function in origin season and previous tables, I suggest you to define only one short module for copy --> paste as values season table to ghost previous table.
It is done in attached file.

    Best regards,

    Re: update statistics

The intention would be if I could accomplish the same thing with a command button, I could then eliminate the 'ghost' previous stats section all together
is there a way i can accomplish this with only a command button to eliminate the other section and the copying and pasting?

    Re: update statistics

I agree with you, but in the case that you have defined functions in target table, it is not possible to add any additional data without some kind of "buffer" area which should store previous data. Concept as you explained above supose that you have data (not functions) in seasons stats table. In this case you can define macro to add results from corresponding cells of weekly stats to seasons stats as simple addition. If you need to preserve functions in table of seasons stats, you can just correct data in "buffer" area. Open my sample, it is triggered with button also, and you can hide ghost table if you not like to see it.
    Regards,
