Can I input data into a spreadsheet to go into excel database?

I am a golfer and trying to get an excel spreadsheet where I can put in my golf scores with the date. Once filled in can I hit enter or send and that the sends the data into a excel spreadsheet data so I can record all my scores? Or is this kind of work more suited to another programme rather than Excel?

Also in cell F12 there is a drop down box. When a club is choosen is there a way to populate the cell underneath with the course being played on ( if there is more than one course)?

I have attached a spreadsheet with what I am trying to achieve.

When I try and look at the attach it saids that it is locked by another user and a read only file. I wonder if you locked it and where I put put the code that you kindly put on the thread if I have to do it manually?
