Extract Field From ZIP.txt file Using Excel...

I have about 2000 files that I need to extract one field from, what I have been doing is importing the Zipped Text file, then grabbing the field I need. Then copy & paste to another worksheet, removing all the duplicates, then copy & paste to my main worksheet.

Please tell me there is a better way to do this. Is there something that will ask me to choose a file then it will go into the file grab what i need the place it in the file that I will have open. (when I say file I'm referring to an excel worksheet)

    I'm using Excel 2007.

When doing the above it takes about 5-10 min for each file depending on the size of the file, some won't even load. It tell me there is to much data, and it stops at 65336 lines.

    File 2 BBM.xls

So I have to assume that this is impossible, this has been up since the 16th and no help.

Where is Jerry when you need him?

No, it's not impossible, but it is likely to be a pretty big job, so you might have to do some of the leg work yourself.

Your profile states that you have Excel 2003, but your post states 2007 - you might like to alter your profile.
First, resave the file as a .xlsm file (a macro supporting Excel 2007 file). This will probably sort out the 65,536 row limit.

Then go to Ron de Bruin's site. He seems to specialise in routines for Outlook and extracting .zip files - there's even one there for extracting .txt files. See example 2 in this link, and the best of British to you
