    split the cell contents

    help me to resolve my problem
    please give instructions to resolve this problem

    Delhi 695143,695146,695147
    Mumbai 695001,695002,695003

    the places is entered in a1,a2 and the PIN nos of delhi in b1, PIN of mumbai in b2. i want split this content as

    Delhi 695143 (A1,B1)
    Delhi 695146 (A2,B2)
    Delhi 695147 (A3,B3)
    Mumbai 695001 (A4,B4)
    Mumbai 695002 (A5,B5)
    Mumbai 695003 (A6,B6)

    How about ..
    Data--Text to Columns--Delimited by ---'space' and repeat
    Data--Text to Columns--Delimited by ---'comma'

    multiple selection of cells for text to column is not allowed. without the place name its applicable with text to column

    Dont understand that

    You could do this at one go...
    Data--Text to Columns--Delimited by ---'comma' as well as 'space'

    be in 1 cell for each row?

    Try this workbook using native formula and helpers.

    As Ace_XL states in Post #4, You could avoid the formulae in C:I by using text to columns.

    Note
    K2 is a "starter" Value to base the adjacent formulae on.
