    SUBSTITUTE problem

When I am using SUBSTITUTE to replace characters with the contents of a cell, if the contents of the cell is 450.60 for example, it gets turned into 450.6.

So for example, if I have cat++ in A1 and 450.60 in B1 and I substitute the ++ for the number in C1 I get cat450.6.

What can I do about this?

    Thanks

    Re: SUBSTITUTE problem

    Hello
The SUBSTITUTE function turns your number value into text, so perhaps try using the TEXT function to format it back to appear as a number.

    Hope this helps.
