Option to enable macros not available...anyway to reset?

I've run across this a couple of times and the workbook was always small enough to start over...but not this time.

I was setting up a cell to switch between a Deployment (workbook and sheets locked) state and a Development (not locked) state and received a debug while testing the code so just ended and closed the workbook. Nothing out of the usual, but now when opening the workbook I can't enable the macros.

This only happens on this workbook, other macro enabled workbooks are fine. I transferred this workbook to a co-workers computer and the same thing happens so it appears individual to this one workbook.

    Any thoughts?

    Hi Joseph,

Thanks for the input. I did see that link to Ron's site, but we have Windows 7 sp1 and no way this can be changed by the user.

I did find a fix. Not saying it will work all the time but it did in this case...

I exported/deleted all macros from the workbook and then closed and saved. Opened up workbook to just make sure it wasn't indentifying any macros left which it did not. Imported all the modules and it worked fine. Go figure...

Thanks again Joseph for your help

it refers to office sp2 not windows. ;-)

anyway it sounds like you had garbage in the p-code which you cleared out (code cleaner would be a good download if you don't have it)

Don't I wish I could have code cleaner, but because of security issues and tight IT controls it is not allowed.

There are a few other add-ins I would like to install (smart identer for one), but again, tight controls and not allowed.

I could request thru proper channels for those add-ins to be added to the approved list, but I'm told it would take about a year to even get looked at for approval/disapproval.

I hear ya. I always had IT folk who owed me favors so no issues there. :-)
