Button on sheet to perform multiple actions

    Hi,

Is it possible to do the following and if so can anyone give me a tip or two on how to do it please. I'm assuming it will need a macro but have never used them.

I have a doc with a front summary sheet then multiple data pages each with a mini summary on the top, you can ignore the first page other than thats where I want the button to be.

I want to do the following actions from one press of a button on the first sheet.

Prompt user for a name for the sheet then a specific date.
Copy a data page then paste it into a new sheet naming the new sheet to the prompted name. (essentially making a copy of the data sheet).
Paste in the prompted name and date to specific cells on the new sheet
Paste in data from a separate CSV file to a specific location on the new sheet.

In more detail what I have is a csv file containing raw data, I currently paste this into a page I made with a mini summary at the top then manually add the file name and the date it was produced to cells in the sheet. This mini summary does several searches on the name and date to produce data counting numbers of entries corresponding to that name and date.

Cheers in advance if you can help me.

It will be good if you attach a sample file and explain with the help of it.

    To Attach a File:

    1. Click on Go Advanced
    2. In the frame Attach Files you will see the button Manage Attachments
    3. Click the button.
    4. A new window will open titled Manage Attachments - Excel Forum.
    5. Click the Browse... button to locate your file for uploading.
    6. This will open a new window File Upload.
    7. Once you have located the file to upload click the Open button. This window will close.
    8. You are now back in the Manage Attachments - Excel Forum window.
    9. Click the Upload button and wait until the file has uploaded.
    10. Close the window and then click Submit.

Sadly I can't there is sensitive information in the file, blanking out what I could to make it public would render it useless as an example. I'll see if I can knock together a quick safe example.

    Fred.xlsx

    This should work I hope.

In this example I would click the press here button on the summary it would ask me for a name and a date (say I selected Fred and 01/01/2012 for the first page) then it would copy the blank page calling it by the name I said then prompt for a csv file that pastes in below the line.

My CSV file has a lot more info in and my summaries do a lot more than count freds but sadly I cant show that example.
