    Add current date to cell when workbook is opened.

    Hello,

    I need a script to add the current date (MM/DD/YYYY) to cell U2. I will be locking this cell and the workbook and worksheets are password protected. Thanks.

    @bjg1016,

    Not sure what good it will due you to due what your doing. reason I say this is because everytime you open the workbook it will get changed to todays date.

    OK, How about every time the workbook is saved the current date is saved to cell "U2" instead. I am importing these workbooks into a program and if there is no date at all the program stops and it takes me hours to find which workbook was saved without a date. I'm not too worried about the date itself because the program that is importing the workbooks is overriding these dates. Just a small bug in the system I need resolved. I swear the end users are looking for ways to make my life harder. Thanks.
