    Split and Transpose

I have a spreadsheet with County ID in one column, and cities contained within the county in another column separated by commas.
I found a formula to Split the cell and Transpose, however can't figure out how to insert blank lines. It's overwriting my data.

    The formula I found is

I'd say where I found this, but have been to so many sites, looking for the way to accomplish this that I've lost track.

    Thanks,

    Hi

Assuming that columns C and D are available, does this give you what you want?

    This is my standard method:

It is used in the macro published here that will split all the data out in a delimited column of values while duplicating the rest of the row... it will do the entire dataset for you:

Just edit the Col = 3 code to Col = 2 and run it on a copy of your data, should do what you want. There's a sample workbook too you could drop your data into and test it out.

Thumbs up Re: Split and Transpose

I used Jerry's solution and it worked perfectly. Thanks also to the link and further work on transposing columns to rows.

I'm going to take a look at that too.

    Thanks again,
