Identify the top 3 from each weight catagory

I need some help with an excel sheet that will be used at competitions. We currently record the scores on a 'running table' but I've been asked if, from this table we can automatically generate the top 3 from each weight catagory (to be displayed on another tab).

If I'm being honest I struggle understanding the terms used by excel, I know WHAT i want to acheive, I just don;t know HOW to achieve it! If anyone has the time and understanding to help me with this I'd be hugely grateful.

Please reply if you think you can help, I'm totally out of my depth on this one!

Same way that you uploaded the picture, pls, upload a small sample workbook.

How it works is there are 3 catorgries (M,F & J) and in each catorgry there ar 3 catorgies (JG,SG & BB) and in each of them there are 3 catogries (LW,MW & HW). So 27 catogries in total.

The way it's programmed is a 'contender' comes up, tells me which catogry they're in, they produce a score and I add it to the 'running table'. Then next person comes up, tells me what catogry they're in, produces a score.......................and so on. What I'm wanting excel to do is automatically generate a 'top 3' for each catorgry (prefereably in a different tab).

Does this make sense at all?

When you are editting a post, click on "Go Advanced" and then you can click on the Manage Attachments button below your text or just use the paperclip icon.

Do you think it's possible to have the top three from each category automatcally generated onto a second worksheet (a 'results' tab)? Or is that a bridge to far! lol I really have no idea when it comes to excel. Saying that, I'm not assuming someone will atomatically do it for me (although a big thatnks to you shg! - you're my No 1 life saver!) but any help & advice is MUCH appreciated

You could just autofilter the rank column for "<=3"

Select Q15, Data > Filter > Autofilter

Click the dropdown, Custom > Rank: is less than or equal to, 3
