display value

I have 4 columns having data in any one or two columns against each row.
in the 5th column i need the value of the first cell from the 4 columns

In the 3rd row under column5 the value is 5, which is the first cell in the row, through there 2 entries in that row, only the first entry is shown in column5.

I need a formula or macro please.
