Month Validatioin in countifs formula
Hi
I have an excel sheet where in column J of sheet 1 i have two months (april 12th to may 19). it is in the format of "Apr 30, 2012"
In the second sheet i want to use the countifs to check how many entries are for the month of may.
Please help me how to do ....????

Ordinarily, if you were returning or analyzing a lot of data, I'd steer clear of this function, but since you need a single result, why not check out sumproduct? The -- part of the formual forces Excel to evaluate true and false as 0 and 1:
