Apologies but I am self taught on Excel and have reached the limit of my abilities!! I have created a spreadsheet that has a range of cells with drop down lists. What I want to do is lock out a series of cells based on the choice made in one cell. I have looked at the threads on the site but have no knowledge what so ever of Visual Basic and therefore the coding means nothing to me. What I need help with is the following.

Cell Y15 (Drop down list choices of Y or N). When N is chosen I want the adjacent cells of Z15 to AF 15 to lock so that nothing can be entered. These have drop down menus as well as they need to be completed if Y15 has Y chosen from the drop down list.

I am using Excel 2010 and really need the 'idiots' guide to how to either create a formula or to do what is need to enable me to sort this out and then to be able to replicate it for other parts of the workbook.

I am now at my wits end...so any help or advice would be really appreciated
