I HAVE A PROBLEM HOPE YOU CAN HELP
I HAVE COLUMN A WITH AN EXTENSIVE LIST OF Ys AND Ns Y/N COLUMN B HAS A NUMBER IN
OK I NEED A FORMULA TO COUNT ALL NUMBERS (NOT ADD) IN B UNDER 25 WHICH ALSO HAVE A "Y" IN COLUMN A
IM USING 2002 EXCEL AND PLEASE GIVE ME RUNDOWN OF ANSWER AS IM JUST LEARNING EXCEL

=Sumproduct((A2:A1000="Y")*(B2:B1000<25))

adjust ranges to suit.

This creates two arrays of TRUEs and FALSEs and multiplies the corresponding elements from both together, yielding a 1 for every TRUE*TRUE and 0's for all other combos... the 1's are then added to give final count.
