Doubleclick event on a protected worksheet

I've hit another snag to which I can't seem to find an answer.

I have a worksheet with a doubleclick event on the worksheet which works fine, but as soon as I protect the sheet with the cells in the doubleclick event rng unlocked, the doubleclick does not work.

Any suggestion on how to keep a doubleclick event active even in a protected state?

    Regards, Jeff

Just unprotect the worksheet at the start of the event, protect at the end.

    Hi Bob,

I had the unprotect/protect but it won't make any change on doubleclick.

For me, the Before_Doubleclick event wants to drop down the data validation list.
If I place the exact same code into the Before_Rightclick event, the code works.

It appears to me that you can't double-click a cell with data validation if you have Show error alert ticked.

    Thanks to all.

I guess I now have to rethink how I want the user to interact with the spreadsheet.
