Excel Not Moving to Next Cell after enter

Hi

I have a workbook in excel 2003 Where all cells are locked except range B4:E65536 I placed a password on the worksheet changed the options to move cell to Right after enter.

When in cell B4, I Press enter it will move to cell C4, Then D4.Then E4, But then it stops, I keep pressing enter and the cell remains in E4. It should move to B5 and so on. The odd thing is it works correctly in excel 2010?

Have any idea's that may help, Thank you as always...

If you locked all other cells, and when protecting the sheet, then in Tools|Options|Edit you should have Move selection after Enter set to Down....

I tested it and it works for me in 2003

Thanks, but I tried that and now it just stays in B4 it wont move right or down. This is really odd, What could be going on?

Check that the other cells are indeed unlocked (format|Cells.. protection tab).

Oddest thing, All cells in Range B2:E65536 Are unlocked, All other cells are locked, if I choose right under the options it will select each cell and stop at E But wont return to B, if I choose Down it just stays in B and wont move anywhere.

I may have to move to a selection change event to get this moving along the way I want it to?

I'm sure I have done this before in 2003 and it worked just fine.Not sure what is going on.

Try creating a new workbook and applying the protection as per this workbook and see if you get similar results....

You can try posting the workbook if you like so we can check it out....

I just installed 2010 on the problem pc and everything is working now. Not sure what the problem was with that version of excel.
