Hi and welcome to the forum.

Your best chance of getting help is to upload a sample workbook with data.

You should also be aware of a forum rule that says members "should no do homework" so you may get hints on how to solve your problem but don't expect members to do you work for you.

This isnt homework , i have read the rules. I am merely looking for an understanding of how to do it, thats why i didnt upload the question as i do not want one to do it for me.

    Re: Optimal

As with some of the other questions you've been asking, this is another one where I'd ask how much of the question is actually Excel related and how much of it is about the underlying math behind the problem. Most optimization algorithms are rooted in calculus (in particular taking derivatives), so the first question I would ask is if you are familiar enough with calculus to solve this problem on paper. Once you are familiar with the basic algorithms involved, then it is a lot easier to figure out how to put that algorithm into Excel.
