    Excel Programming Advice

I am new to using Excel for programming, and I'm not sure if I can use it for a project I have in mind. I get a spreadsheet weekly with certain information on it. Each row has a unique identifier and a status (new, active, deleted) on it. I want to create and maintain a summary spreadsheet to track all active rows. With each new spreadsheet I'd like to be able to compare the new spreadsheet looking for "new" rows and add them to the summary spreadsheet, and delete "deleted" rows from the summary spreadsheet, that sort of thing. Can I do this with Excel programming, or would I be better off using a regular programming language?

    Thanks.

Yes, you can do that with VBA, which is built in to Excel, and as you want to "maintain a summary spreadsheet" then you may as well use Excel for it !!

    Hope this helps.
